  • The importance of research and reviews

    Jan 14, 2015

When you’re choosing a new pair of binoculars, a spotter for hunting or bird watching, a riflescope for your next shoot or any new accessories to add to your current equipment, it’s really important to do your research before buying. The last thing you want to do is buy a product that isn’t fit for purpose, so we always advise our customers to take some time to read up on which product will be best for them.

Product research is especially important for people who are buying their first ever sports optics, and we always advise customers to read our Buyers Guides before they even begin to browse our range of products. Separate buyers guides are available for each type of sporting optic, and they are written with beginners in mind.

Separate buyers guides are available for binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes and telescopes.

Starting with the basics, the guides give you a good understanding of what each type of sporting optic is best used for, how to understand the specifications of different products, and much more.

We are currently adding to our bank of buyers guides by developing guides to help you choose the best sports optics for specific activities. These are a work in progress so please bare with us whilst we add them to our knowledge base.

Another great thing to do when choosing a new pair of binoculars, riflescope, spotting scope or anything really(!!), is to read reviews written by other customers. Customer reviews are the best way for you to get quality information about products you're interested in so you can make an educated purchase decision. After all, reviews by other customers give unbiased opinions, feedback, ratings and recommendations. If someone else is happy with a product and has had a great experience with it then it is likely that you will too!

At ScopeUout we have a specific ‘Customer reviews’ feature that allows you to leave reviews of each and everyone of our products. There’s a chance to give the product a ‘star rating’ and also write a full review about it. But the best thing about it is that it also allows you to read reviews left by other customers too, giving you a great idea if the product is for you!

Products reviews can be found at the bottom of each product page so keep your eyes open for them and be sure to take a read. And once you’ve bought a product from us, don’t forget to leave your own review so that other future customers can benefit from it!
