When you’re buying from a brand for the first time, it’s understandable that you’ll want to know more about them and their products, so we’ve taken the opportunity to provide you with a bit of history of about Nova so that you can buy your Nova scope with confidence.
Lets take it back to the beginning
The Nova brand of optics was launched in 2013 by Christchurch based optical importers, Blaxall & Steven. With over 50 years experience of importing and distributing a range of optical brands, the team knew which telescope models and features were popular with customers and performed well. They also knew that the price of these telescopes often resulted in them being out of reach for some customers, so they set about developing a small range of high quality telescopes with a more affordable price tag.
Using their years of experience and knowledge of quality optical manufacturing techniques, Blaxall & Steven decided to work with the China based Ningbo Sunny company to bring their range of telescopes to life.
Ningbo Sunny are well known for the quality telescopes that they produce for Meade and the Synta company who own the Sky-Watcher and Celestron brands of telescopes, so they knew that they were in good hands when it came to achieving telescopes that had a fantastic design and excellent quality standard.
Today, Nova are a very popular option for both first time telescope purchasers and pros in New Zealand. The Nova range has been developed to include refractor and reflector telescope options, with many of the models being identical in design and build to their Sky-Watcher equivalent. Customers continually rate Nova telescopes highly and rave about their fantastic price point.
As a New Zealand owned and operated brand, you can be safe in the knowledge that, in the unlikely situation that you have a problem with your scope, it’s covered by a fantastic three year manufacturers warranty that will be honoured by ourselves and Blaxall & Steven, who’ll be on hand to provide the necessary parts or a replacement scope should you need it.
Now you’ve got to know Nova a little better, it’s time to get your hands on one of their awesome telescopes.
